In 2003, 6 young people went to Portugal on a 3 week work placement which took place in Lisbon Zoo.  The group did various jobs, including animal keeping and preparing the meals for all the animals.  The week was split into 5 days working and 2 days free time. In their free time, they went and explored Portuguese culture. Activities within the Zoo included a tour of the Dolphin Centre.

The Prince’s Trust European Work Placement

At the Community Campus Youth Project we have worked with the Prince’s Trust and the British Youth Council for over 5 years. This has enabled young people to visit various countries including Italy, Portugal, Poland, Romania and Hungary.

After a young person returned from his Portugal work placement, he decided to work abroad.  After months of careful preparation, supported by the Youth Project. Jonathan joined the European Voluntary Service (EVS) with one of his best friends. They are currently working in a school in Hungary..
