The success of the Key Skills Project resulted in increasing demand for it's services. As soon as word got round that there was a social enterprise which could not only deliver quality construction, building maintenance, painting and decorating services, at a good price, but one which understood the values and needs of the Voluntary and Community Sector demand for it's services started to grow.

This lead to the formation of Community Campus '87 Trading (Ltd) a wholly owned subsidiary company of Community Campus '87. Simply put, this meant that more trading activity could be entered into, whilst ensuring that any surplus or profit comes back to Community Campus '87 to support it to meet it's objectives. This enables the organisation to provide construction and building maintenance services to a range of clients in the public, private and voluntary and community sectors. Customers are not only attracted by the fact that the organisation provides training and employment opportunities for the local people but also a competitively priced, quality service.

Very simple, very effective and a vehicle for long term change. Building skills, providing homes and contributing to community regeneration.

The project expanded to Stockton-on-Tees, further supporting the long term sustainability of the organisation, increasing its asset base, the quality of it's properties and importantly enabling a higher number of young homeless people to be housed and trained.
