Community Campus '87 Pre Tenancy Training |
| Community Campus '87 run a Pre Tenancy course for young people before they take on the responsibilities of a tenancy. The course is short and aims to be snappy!, delivered by our experienced staff and encourages young people to consider some of the key issues and challenges that they will face when taking on a Community Campus '87 supported tenancy. |
| |||
Areas covered include budgeting, taking responsibility and a further introduction to supported housing. Feedback from the course is very positive and it has the added benefit of building relationships between young people and Community Campus '87 Pre-Tenancy Learning Resource-CDROMINTRODUCTIONThe housing, homeless and Pre-Tenancy resource pack was originally intended to be developed to support the preparation of young people moving into Community Campus '87 supported housing tenancies. However, it had been clear in producing this resource that the materials can have a potential use outside of this, e.g. in youth groups, schools, entry to employment projects, other housing projects, preparation for moving into independent tenancies etc. The resources can be applied to a number of settings by professionals and volunteers in working with young people who, for whatever reason, have an interest in housing and homelessness. |

This resource pack is designed and constructed to provide a modular or session approach to learning. We hope that this will enable trainers, professionals and volunteers working with young people to adapt and apply the materials in a variety of contexts from a general introduction to housing and homelessness, to more specific, and for some young people, relevant aspects relating to getting, managing and keeping their own tenancy. |
| Part 1 provides a starting point and then looks at identifying and raising some of the issues that young people may face when considering their housing options. Part 2 aims to encourage young people to consider some of the important aspects of moving into and managing their own supported housing tenancy.
